In Douglas Adams’ The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, a towel is carried by interstellar hitchhikers to display their keen readiness for anything the galaxy could throw at them. We live in a crazy and unpredictable world and knowing where your towel is can help you through some rough times.
I’m reminded of the old Boy Scouts of America motto, “Be Prepared.” My father was my Boy Scout leader for my small town where I grew up. He taught me so much of what I know, and influenced a large part of who I am today. I like to think that in a small way, he gave me my towel that I still carry with me to this day.
Renne Brock at Peninsula also gave me towel, here it is. Thanks Renne!
